Your new company

A Local Authority based in London is seeking to recruit a Head of Repairs & Maintenance for a 6-Month FTC role to assist with the ongoing day-to-day elements of running a busy housing team, whilst also attending to reactive maintenance issues and making sure contractors and external consultants are adhering to internal policies correctly.

Your new role

  • Responsive repairs and out of hours, across all estates.
  • Compliance - ensuring servicing and remediation of components relating to fire, electrical, gas, asbestos, lifts and water hygiene
  • Ensuring that any claims for disrepair or potential claims are responded to appropriately and with due urgency, in conjunction with relevant colleagues and legal advisors
  • Mechanical and electrical works, including managing appropriate contractors.
  • The delivery of legislative servicing of electrical and gas and associated works.
  • All aspects of planning and scheduling in relation to works delivered, optimising use of technology to deliver efficiencies and managing planned vs emergency repairs.
  • Delivery of voids works including management of contractors and team working with Housing Management. Monitoring of voids, development of voids standard and processes and preparing business cases for voids.

What you'll need to succeed

Relevant degree or substantial equivalent experience (Building Maintenance, Building Surveyor, Estate Management etc)
Relevant professional qualification and membership; CIOB or RICS or sufficient, relevant work experience associated with working at an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise.
