Job Title: Development Surveyor

Company: Encyclis Limited

Join us and be part of a forward-thinking company that is shaping the future of energy!

Location: Hybrid remote (with travel to sites in the Midlands and occasional meetings in London HQ)

About Us

Encyclis Limited is a leader in the modern 'Energy from Waste' (EfW) industry, generating sustainable energy from non-recyclable waste for homes and businesses. With state-of-the-art plants, we prioritise safety and innovation, offering a dynamic and supportive work environment where success is celebrated, and ideas are valued.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Development Surveyor to join our team, tasked with identifying prospective business opportunities and driving the development of new initiatives.  This role will focus on diversifying revenue streams of the sites that are already active and under construction and not the development of new waste to energy facilities.  This is a unique opportunity to  work across our operating sites and sites under construction, while interfacing with various internal and external stakeholders and the rest of the Development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of development projects, from initial site evaluation and feasibility studies to completion.
  • Site Development: Manage site surveys, risk assessments, environmental assessments, and land acquisition processes including wayleaves, easements, and Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs).
  • Financial Appraisal: Prepare and analyze financial reports and investment appraisals to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Negotiate contracts and agreements with landowners, tenants, and other key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Compliance & Liaison: Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, liaising with local authorities, engineers, contractors, and other professionals.
  • Innovation: Seek and develop new business opportunities beyond traditional revenue streams, connecting  power / energy from the EfW plants  with external energy users.

Person Specification

  • Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role, ideally within the Energy or Infrastructure sectors.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Property Development, Surveying, or a related field. Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) or working towards it is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills. Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attributes: Self-starter with the ability to work independently, a driven individual that moves projects forward, and someone who is keen, motivated, and able to take initiative.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to sites across the Midlands and occasionally to our London HQ.

Employee Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: £45,000- £50,000 per annum
  • Car allowance: £5,000
  • Bonus: Up to 20% of salary based on company and personal performance metrics
  • Electric Vehicle Lease: Salary sacrifice scheme for an electric vehicle (available after 6 months), with free on-site charging.
  • Pension: Contributory pension up to 5% individual and company matched to 10%
  • Healthcare: Single cover health and dental plan, extendable to family.
  • Flexible Working: Work from home with travel to sites and meetings as required.
  • Career Progression: Opportunities to grow with the company and build a team as new sites become operational.
