Background
The Bolesworth Estate are seeking a capable Chartered Surveyor to be based in their Estate Office in South Cheshire.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on an extensively diversified and modern Estate comprising broadly; 6,500 acres of let and in hand farmland, mainly dairy holdings, let cottages, a large portfolio of let commercial properties, a thriving events business and an establishing tourism and leisure business. In addition, the successful candidate will be supported by Balfours LLP team, based in Shrewsbury, providing professional development and advice.

The Role
The successful candidate will be a qualified Surveyor and will be based at the Estate office in Cheshire. Ideally the candidate will have a rural estate management understanding and experience in residential, commercial and agricultural property, tenancy legislation, property management and building maintenance.
The successful candidate will be assisting the Senior Management Team and support in general Estate Management, focussing on the management of the residential let portfolio, residential and commercial tenancy matters, building maintenance, property refurbishment and tenant engagement. The portfolio comprises over 150 residential properties, of which the majority are let on Assured Shorthold Tenancies and Rent Act tenancies, with some to be managed as part of the emerging leisure enterprise on the Estate. The properties are well maintained and the role will be supported by an in-house administration team. In addition, the role will include assisting with commercial property matters, land and other rural estate management.
The Surveyor must specifically:
Be confident in working in an Estate Office environment with strong knowledge of residential property management, building maintenance and legislation. They should be happy to work in a team, both based in an Estate Office but supported by a wider team remotely.
General Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a large residential portfolio and take the lead on managing administrators, building contractors and other professionals relating to the residential management. They will be expected on a day to day basis to be able to manage all residential tenancy matters. This will include instructing residential lettings (which are marketed and let by a third party), managing repairs, refurbishments and building contractors, dealing with tenancy matters and enquiries and supporting the senior management team in making strategic decisions on the property portfolio.

Remuneration
Remuneration will consist of a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, as well as other benefits including salary sacrifice options, pension and 28 days paid holiday including statutory days.
