Senior Estimator – Developer / Investor

This leading Developer / Investor with an exciting portfolio spanning the commercial, high net worth residential and hotels / resorts sector in the Cayman Islands is looking to appoint a Senior Estimator into their team.

As Senior Estimator you will be responsible for the overall estimating function for all current and potential projects where you will  independently perform continuous cost estimating duties including; reviewing project specifications, preparing complete and accurate estimates, detailed Bills of Quantities; presenting estimates to team members, consultants and executives, answering questions comprehensively; providing high level, concept estimating services and cost guidance on a wide range of project types; interpreting design intent and project scope to generate reasoned cost advice at the earliest stages of project feasibility; researching labor, materials, currency exchanges, import/export taxes, freight costs and equipment pricing and making cost effective recommendations for assigned projects etc.

You will coach, mentor, supervise and support junior team members.

You will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying or an equivalent combination of technical experience and training with a minimum of 10 years demonstrable cost estimating experience within the construction industry, preferably attained in the Caribbean region on high value, high profile projects.

Knowledge of Cayman Islands construction market rates advantageous, although not essential.
