Our client now has an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Associate Party Wall Surveyor/Rights to Light Surveyor (will potentially consider up to Partner level) to join their Birmingham or Manchester based team. The Birmingham and Manchester offices are both busy multi-disciplinary practices in the regions with a broad client base, primarily operating within the commercial sector. This is a truly exciting time to join the business as our client undertakes our new growth and development plans.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a Party Wall/ Rights to Light Surveyor to work within our client’s Neighbourly Matters team in their Building Consultancy Division in either Manchester or Birmingham. The role will involve dealing with projects ranging from £50k-£500m in the North-West or Midlands and from time-to-time, assisting the wider team in the national office network. Our client work with a wide client base on a variety of property types in the commercial, retail, healthcare and heritage sectors.

Whether you are a senior surveyor wishing to build your career in the region or you are a seasoned practitioner who wishes to have the benefit of assistance and mentoring others, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The successful candidate, will ideally be chartered or have a comparable qualification and be a member of either the Pyramus & Thisbe Society and / or Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors. They will be supported and actively participate in networking events, client development and becoming involved with local groups/professional bodies. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • To work across the Neighbourly Matters team.
  • Undertaking a range of professional instructions including Building Owner, Adjoining Owner, Agreed Surveyor & Third Surveyor roles.
  • Advising clients about the Party Wall etc Act 1996 from feasibility stage to project delivery, or how the Act can assist them as a neighbour to development.
  • Develop a good rapport with project teams and identify when Party Wall matters will be applicable on upcoming schemes.
  • Good file management skills when dealing with multiple instructions.
  • To produce schedules of condition.
  • To present at client meetings.

 

 

Person Specification

  • Chartered (or equivalent suitable qualification)
  • Senior surveyor level
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Predominantly commercial sector experience
