Help us build an estate to last for generations to come

Over the last 30 years we’ve invested £millions growing our estate in the beautiful Lake District National Park.  We now run a large number of business offices and buildings, own 20 rental properties, manage over 900 acres of park and farmland, are the custodians of several historic houses, three traditional pubs, a butcher, a baker and yes, even a candlestick maker.

All this was founded off the huge success of our UK’s No. 1 books business and we’ve got the same passion and ambition for our large and varied estate.

As with our books though, we strive to do things our own way – so if you’re keen to use your initiative and break away from the safety and security of rinse and repeat estate management then look no further.  We want a seriously smart, organised, degree-educated individual with exceptionally high standards and at least a few years’ work experience to join our Property Team.

Interested?

Fantastic!  Head to our website to find out more about the role and fill in our application form.

Company

CGP is the UK’s No.1 Educational Publisher!

CGP is a very exciting place to work. For a start, we’re the most popular educational publisher in the UK and one of the fastest growing private companies in the North West. We have books and digital resources to cover everything from Key Stage 1 to A-Level and over 1,600 titles in our range.  With over 13 million books leaving our warehouse each year, every day is busy for all our teams.

As an independent publisher we have the freedom to do things differently from the competition and the flexibility to react quickly to curriculum changes.  At CGP we handle almost every stage of the publishing process in-house (with the exception of printing) from product development, editing and design to marketing, customer service and shipping. Our books, developed using input from teachers, are constantly updated and are written in a relaxed style that helps to keep students engaged.

We look after our employees

At CGP we have very high standards in everything we do from writing books and creating digital products to customer service. That’s why we take our recruitment seriously, only employing the very best people. In return we offer a wide range of benefits on top of very competitive salaries and we make sure everybody gets their fair share of the rewards.

We think CGP’s working environment is second-to-none. Our 4 main sites have everything our 300 employees need to do their jobs effectively and comfortably — our uniquely beautiful Lake District location is an added bonus.

And did you know we also have an impressive property portfolio? We apply the same high standards to our diverse properties as we do to our books — from our shiny new offices and quirky village shops to our various pubs and farms.
