The Company

Our Birmingham-based Infrastructure Team is the fastest-growing of its kind in the UK, with 180 professionals spread across seven offices nationwide. We collaborate with major clients such as Network Rail, HS2, National Highways, National Grid, and the Crown Estate. Our projects primarily focus on rural areas, making this an ideal opportunity for surveyors with a background in rural or agricultural property who are eager for their next challenge and professional growth.

The Role

We're seeking a driven and enthusiastic qualified surveyor to become part of our friendly, dynamic team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making an impact in the infrastructure sector while benefiting from excellent career development.

As a member of our team, you'll undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Land and property valuation
  • Negotiating heads of terms, option agreements, and voluntary land acquisition agreements
  • Developing new business opportunities with a focus on claimants and landowners in the local area
  • Engaging with landowners and stakeholders
  • Negotiating disturbance claims following works
  • Managing access consents for third-party land
  • Promoting Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs)
  • Overseeing compensation claims linked to construction projects
  • Enhancing internal systems and processes to optimize efficiency
  • Ensuring legal compliance and implementing policies
  • Managing and mentoring surveyors, coaching junior team members through professional development
  • Upholding RICS Rules of Conduct or equivalent professional standards

This is a flexible role that can adapt to your professional needs, with opportunities for agile or remote working arrangements discussed at the application stage.

The Successful Candidate

  • You will be RICS-qualified and an RICS Registered Valuer, with extensive post-qualification experience in general practice or infrastructure surveying.
  • You will have a solid understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You will demonstrate a proactive, business development-focused approach, delivering exceptional client service at every opportunity.
  • You will drive business growth, build new relationships, and maintain existing ones.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • You will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where adaptability and flexibility are key to success.
  • You will be ambitious, keen to develop your career, and eager to expand your knowledge through continuous self-development.
  • You will have a full UK driving licence.

What We Offer

In return, we provide a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Flexible benefits tailored to your personal needs, such as additional leave, health cash plans, and a cycle-to-work scheme
  • A welcoming and supportive team culture
  • Opportunities for career progression and professional development within a forward-thinking organization
